The Derby (a.k.a. Blucher or Gibson) is a style of Men’s shoe characterized by quarters with shoelace eyelets that are sewn on top of the vamp known as “open lacing”. This gives more room for feet with a higher instep and needing a slightly wider fit than the Oxford. The Derby is slightly less formal, but is still considered formal wear for most occasions.
